Guided by her impulse to push the boundaries between medium and material, Rosie Ding creates visceral mixed-media works that explores existence, physicality, and ephemerality. Informed by deeply personal experiences battling mental illnesses, her creations reveal sensitivity, emotional intensity, and subjectivity. In the artist's words, her work remain "shamelessly raw."

Hybridity also plays a central role in her art; she often contrasts distinct textures and reassembles bodily forms to produce striking visuals. Her inspiration spans various disciplines—existential philosophy, artificial intelligence, postmodern feminism, amongst countless others.
Drawing on our fascination with the uncanny, her work elicits a simultaneous sense of discomfort and allure, much like a horror film you can't help but keep watching.

"Beginning with a concept, my work process is often intuitive—I let the materials and the work lead me toward where they want to go. They are like physical incarnations of Allan Kaprow’s idea of “Happenings”, where logic and rules are overridden by the beauty of chance, uncertainty, and absurdity. While freedom is a central dogma to both my life and art, my own mind appears to be the only thing that traps me.
Like a stranded whale, I often feel powerless against the incessant rampage of doubt and intrusive thoughts despite constant effort to counter. Thus, you will inevitably find traces of that struggle in my work, given that I believe artists cannot conceal themselves in their work. It is also in my nature to rebel and question: against norms, conventions, people, and preconceived notions. By this, I refer to a perpetual desire to verge away."
"I GIVE BIRTH TO MY WORK, WHICH IN TURN FORMS MY IDENTITY
I AM MY ART - MY ART IS ME
IN THE RAWEST FORM
WELCOME TO MY WORLD"
